Fashion, Fashion

It’s that time of year when I begin wondering what I’ll be wearing next. Despite 30 degree weather, I start envisioning sandals, pedicures and bare legs. As soon as spring fashion magazines are in stores, I start stocking up, comparing trends and making lists.

This year the list of trends I like is really long. Would anyone like to contribute shopping money? No one?

Fashion Friday

I haven’t written a post for Fashion Friday for a while. First, I had that baby, and my body was so different that shopping wasn’t much fun. Even though it’s still not quite the same, I was really looking forward to talking trends with you again.

Unfortunately, I’m not really feeling much of what’s in stores right now. I don’t care for the cuts, colors or prints. I’ve been able to pick up a few things here and there, but I can’t even find shoes that I want to buy. It’s really bad.

Fashion Friday: Embellished

Embellished pieces are going to be huge for fall, which is perfect for me, because my love for all things sparkly is second only to my adorable niece Chloe’s penchant for it. She’s always rocking something with glitter, always. If you two love a little daily glamour, then this trend is for you. For those of you who are less sure,  I’ve pulled together some runway inspiration and affordable pieces that showcase this trend.

Also, you have to see how Chloe styles the pearl Zara skirt below. It’s pretty fantastic.

Fashion Friday: Fall Preview

I know it’s 100 degrees outside and that what I’m about to say might sound crazy, but I’m really excited for Fall clothes. It’s one of the reasons I haven’t had too many Fashion Fridays lately.

There, it’s out there now.

Once you see some of these photos*, I think you’ll understand why. The new pieces for next season are opulent and rich.

Think vibrant colors and intricate patterns mixed with textures (snakeskin, fur, soft wool, sequins, feathers and lots of leather). It’s all heartbreakingly beautiful — very Anna Karenina meets downtown. Here are some examples from Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenburg and Valentino. Continue reading
