With their beautiful deep color, plums make a pretty addition to a dinner plate. With this recipe, I created a healthier version of a plum crumble. Pecans, spiced yogurt, brown sugar and butter, add a decadent touch to this in season fruit. Creamy and buttery, it’s the perfect ending to a summer meal.
Grilled Plums Crumble
3 plums, halved and pitted
1 tbsp. Canola
1/4 c. Greek yogurt
1 tsp. honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. brown sugar, divided (approx. amount)
1 tbsp. butter, divided (approx. amount)
2 tbsp. pecans, toasted
Preheat the grill over medium heat. In a small pan, toast the pecans over low heat. Remove them when they start to smell and then, coarsely chop. them While the walnuts are toasting, slice the plums in half and brush them with canola oil.
Place the plums cut side down. When they’ve gotten a light char on them (about three minutes), turn them over. place a small pat of butter and sprinkle of brown sugar in the empty cavity.
Tent with foil. Remove from the grill when the butter has melted. As the plums cook, stir together the yogurt, honey and cinnamon. Take the grilled plums and place them cut side up on a plate. Top with a small spoonful of yogurt and a sprinkle of pecans. Enjoy!
