Pomegranate Balsamic Reduction

Some of my favorite things to make are items that sound fancy, but are very easy to put together. A balsamic reduction falls into that category.

To make one for yourself, just put balsamic vinegar in a pot and boil it. That’s it. Really.

Pomegranate – Balsamic Reduction

6 tbsp. Pomegranate Juice (Either juice your own, or buy a jar at the store. My grocery store keeps this in the produce section near the pre-packaged salads.)

6 tbsp. Balsamic vinegar

How to Make It:

Combine both ingredients in a saucepan over high heat. Boil. Lower heat to medium to keep it bubbling away. Swirl the pan every few minutes to keep it from burning and check the status. When it’s reduced by half and will coat a spoon, it’s ready.

How to Use It:

  • This makes a great glaze on grilled meat. Baste it onto pork, steak or chicken.
  • You could also use it as a salad dressing. Try tossing it with spinach, sliced pears, a few walnuts and goat cheese.
